How Accurate are your readings?

Hi folks,

I've been running my station on a 2m pole in the middle of back garden for the last week. I know the wind speed and direction are way off, but it was a start and it meant I've had time to mess with the website.

Today I ventured onto the roof and bolted the sensors to the top of a disused chimney, about 5m above the ground and about 10m to the West of the original location.

I had removed the batteries from the transmitter during the move as I didn't want to induce loads of false readings if I fell off the ladder :D Once the unit was secure I re-installed the batteries and restarted the reciever. No settings have been changed on the units or in Cumulus at this stage. (I've not changed anything via the LCD receiver and so the battery removal should not have affected anything there).

I'm finally getting realistic wind and direction data, but the pressure sensor seems to have changed massively!

Anyone got any suggestions as to what may have happened?

You didn't remove the batteries from the console or reset it in any way? If the pressure change came after a restart of Cumulus, you may have this problem:

Actually, your pressure is now reading closer to reality; it was way too high before. What did you use to set your relative pressure?

It's a big drop, but the figure still looks a little high !

(Crossed posting)

Is that the same difference as you 'compensated' for ?

.. if so, did you did you do it on the base station or in Cumulus ?
