WU updates no longer logged?

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

WU updates no longer logged?

Post by GlueGuy2 »

I occasionally check the CumulusMX data log (We're on version 3159), and I seem to recall that updates to Wunderground appeared as "WU <blah blah blah">". Wunderground was recently having an issue where when I tried to open the PWS web page, it showed as "offline". However, the data was actually being uploaded, as the PWS showed up as normal on the wundermap.

I was lead astray because I "thought" I remembered the WU update messages in the CumulusMX data logs. Did something change here, or am I not remembering correctly? I tried turning on/off different logging options, but the WU updates don't seem to be there any longer.

Yes I noticed the issue this morning. Over the past week or so my WU site appeared to be offline from time to time but far as I was aware I had made no changes to the upload process.

Looking at the MXDiags report the following detail was reported at 18:05 and every 5mins to date.
2022-09-21 18:05:00.692 Wunderground: Response = Unauthorized: unauthorized

My other uploads to PWS weather and Windy remain in place with regular 5 min updates taking place so I assume that the issue remains with WU. However looking at other WU local stations they appear to be updating normally.

Does anyone else have an issue with WU?

I think have sorted my issue now, the password on WU used to be a my WU password but this has changed to a Station Key.

I must have been asleep when this changed but it shows up on the 3rd Party Uploads section of the CMX settings page.

My WU site is now being updated from CMX every 5 mins as expected and the error line on MXDiags has disappeared.

The cookie crumbs I followed that day also lead me to believe that the problem was on the WU end of things. Several other PWS would show "offline", but were showing normally on the wundermap. So, no problem there.

The question still remains: are WU updates (and presumably other weather aggregator updates) no longer logged? Is there a way to turn them back on?

Updates to WU are now only logged by default is there is an error.

If you do not have rapid fire enabled, the request is logged if you enable debug logging
