Cumulus Support

From what I can gather - the Tempest station reports a "raw" rainfall reading and then one augmented by other data that supposedly aligns with average rainfall over a 100 sq foot area. I think Cumulus reports the raw data which differs from a tipping cup like in the Davis Vantage Vue. Is there anyway CMX could report the augmented rainfall data? From what I see it does line up better with the tipping cup.

I didn't write the Tempest station code, It doesn't look like it can be done.

Historic data contains four rainfall fields: Precipitation (which is what CMX uses), Local Day Rain, Local Rain Checked, Final Rain Checked.

I don't know but assume the "checked" values are the ones manipulated by WeatherFlow to match some sort of reality? What the difference between Local and Final is I have no idea.

But the data supplied directly by the station only has the Precipitation value, so I assume the data massaging takes place in the cloud and isn't available locally? Thinking about it, it has to be done in cloud as I believe one of the corrections they apply is make it fit in with surrounding stations values?

Yes, you are correct. Sometime overnight, Weatherflow calculates a 'Rain Check' value.

Cumulus currently only deals with the cloud during the initial import of historical data and on cumulus startup to get any 'missed' data. In order to get that value a daily task would have to get the data from the cloud and update cumulus locally.

I believe it could be done, but then cumulus would be inconsistent with any other cloud services it updates (Weather Underground...)
