Stuck on MX Legacy Gauges Page Display

Further to my attempting to duplicate my old Cumulus1 site using using some of the legacy files I am now stuck on the
gauges page on two fronts, firstly with the gauges not displaying correctly on the page and secondly the realtimegauges.txt file not uploading using the Extra Web Files.
For the page display I think I have the links correct as they work with a MX gauges.htm page
For the realtime gauges file the paths are C\CumulusMX\web\realtimegauges.txt to /public_html/weathertest/realtimegauges.txt with with Realtime and FTP ticked.

Hi,
Excellent progress on the legacy website. Graphs likely will present a challenge.
For the realtime gauges file the paths are C\CumulusMX\web\realtimegauges.txt to /public_html/weathertest/realtimegauges.txt with with Realtime and FTP ticked.
In CumulusMX you would not normally need to add realtimegauges.txt to Extra web files as this can be automatically updated by the Internet settings > Interval Settings > Realtime interval settings.
Likely C\CumulusMX\web\realtimegauges.txt is a typing mistake as would be C:\CumulusMX...
Also is /public_html/weathertest/... correct with the leaqding / ? or could it be without the leading / as that is how mine is, just: public_html/cumulusmx
Your
https://www.blazingcomet.com/weatherMX seems to be fine and realtimegauges.txt is current so check how you have your Internet settings on this and duplicate
Code: Select all
Remote FTP Directory: public_html/cumulusmx
If still a problem, check your MXdiags file to see if there is an FTP error on that Extra web files
Enjoy,
Paul

Thanks Paul, you picked it, I had left out the : I must have looked at that a dozen or more times and still missed something so basic.
I have realtimegauges.txt ticked in the interval settings but that goes to the MX directory whilst I needed the file to go the weathertest directory. Maybe I am going about wrong and there is an easier way.
Still stuck on the gauges display.

Finally had some success on displaying the gauges page. I now need some help with the box that pops when a gauge is selected.
Initially it was that size for a graph PNG file that is no longer available. How do I remove the PNG box and just accommodate the text. Is it in one of the CSS files?

It's in gauges.js, from memory something like showPopupGraphs

I have pretty much completed getting all the pages to display and now finishing off NOAA reports. Although the page is complete and working with manually uploaded data I am yet to work out how to upload new files from the Reports folder to the second site using Extra Web Files. Is there a way of doing this or workaround?

Hopefully I am understanding your setups correctly... one CMX install, uploading to two websites.
If the "reports" are the same for both sites I think you can change the settings in your second site noaareports.php
Code: Select all
// *** Change below if your reports directory is different to the 'type' default ******************
$NOAAdir = 'Reports'; // point to your NOAA file sub-directory
//$NOAAdir = './NOAA-reports'; // point to your NOAA file sub-directory
//$NOAAdir = './NOAA-reportsANSI'; // point to your NOAA file sub-directory
// END user variables, you only need to look below if you wish to change wording / language
to
Code: Select all
$NOAAdir = '../yourfirstsite/Reports'; // point to your NOAA file sub-directory
so no additional Extra web files settings needed.
Enjoy,
Paul

Thank you Paul, I couldn't get it to work from a seperate directory to the main site so I made it a subdirectory of the main site and was successful doing it with
Code: Select all
$NOAAdir = '../Reports'; // point to your NOAA file sub-directry
thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
