realtime.txt not updating

I updated to Cumulus MX 3.19.1 b3194 today from 3.0.82 - I had fallen badly behind.

Everything seemed to go well - but a program I have that scrapes realtime.txt kept showing the same values and i have determined that the file is no longer being updated.

I poked around a lot before posting here and didn't find anything that points to that file - are there common reasons for this file not updating?

Of course as soon as i posted this i found the reason - the update unticked generation of the file. Sorry about the noise.

I am too suffering from this problem, but for the life of me cant find where
the option for this is to re-tick the file generation for realtime.txt.

Can you or someone kindly guide me to where this option is in the settings please?

go to:

Settings->Internet Settings ->Interval Configuration ->Real Time Settings

Enable Real Time and the realtime.txt file for the method you are using.

Thank you for your prompt response, much appreciated.

Unfortunately all my settings where ticked.
I did try un-ticking them and then re-ticking them, but I still
end up with no realtime.txt file being uploaded to my FTP site.

I have had to revert back to: b.3190 v.3.18.0,
which works correctly and uploads the file.

So not sure what has made it stop working for the following updates :
b.3191 v3.19.0
b3194 v3.19.1

Hopefully, it will get fixed in a later release *fingers crossed*

After looking in my MXdiags file and noticed that I was getting an error about: 'EPSV' command unrecognised.

The above thread talked about this and it was stated that the other users problem was;

it appears your FTP server does not support ESPV mode.

Try disabling this mode in Internet Settings | Web/FTP Site | Advanced Settings

So I did this and now all is working correctly again in the latest release: b3194 v3.19.1.

The FTP client has an Auto-config mode where it tries to determine what the server supports or doesn't and automagically configures itself. Obviously this means the login process takes a bit longer, but it may be worth adding as an option in a future release.

Hi Mark,

Yes that may be a good idea, especially as a couple of us have had
the same error, and if it stops this from happening it would definitely
be an advantage.

I also am having trouble with my website not updating. I have disabled EPSV mode, checked that all my realitime options are checked. I am running version 3184. I am including my MDIAGS file and ftplog.txt. I have not tried reverting to an earlier version. I am probably missing some minor setting. Thanks for any help.

Your logs are not showing any errors, but there is no debug or FTP logging enabled so not much to see as to what is working.

What files are you expecting to be transferred?
Have you double checked they are enabled in the Internet Settings?

Your realtime.txt is current http://www.laferla.ca/realtime.txt and also realtimegauges.txt http://www.laferla.ca/realtimegauges.txt
Your http://www.laferla.ca/index.htm shows the pre-b3184 legacy webfiles.
Your current data files for the current webfiles like http://www.laferla.ca/humdata.json and http://www.laferla.ca/alldailytempdata.json show current.

For CMX current versions you need to FTP the contents of the included \webfiles as they work different to the old legacy webfiles.
If however you want legacy version CMX webfiles you will need to go to the instructions on how to do that.
