Amazing to see those temperatures and records fall! Beats my all time meagre 35.8°C of July 21, 2011 and this year's 33.2°C.
Try to keep cool...

The wind has picked up a bit here, and moved from 'South' to 'SSW'. A little 'pennine cloud' has developed, and moved over North Lincolnshire. It has knocked the temperature down to 38. I don't think it will bounce back now. 39.8 is the new record for me. I hope it is never broken. but . . . .

In the end 39.8C was the highest record temperature on 19th July. The highest minimum was 20.9C on the same day, but most of the night time temperatures were around 25C. The biggest surprise was on 18th July when the humidity dropped to 15%. Many years ago I put a line in the program to consider anything below 20% as a probable error. At the time I hadn't experienced anything below 30. I had forgotton about this and was left wondering what had happened to the sensor, before eventually figuring out the cause!
