Gateway fails to give data

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Gateway fails to give data

Post by broadstairs »

I have noticed over the past couple of days on the latest build that I get Connected to Station appearing in the console window. Looking at the log file I see
2022-07-08 20:53:31.145 ERROR: No data received from the GW1000 for 30 seconds
2022-07-08 20:53:31.145 Using IP address = 192.168.0.29 Port = 45000
2022-07-08 20:53:31.145 Error reconnecting Ecowitt Gateway: Cannot access a disposed object.
Object name: 'System.Net.Sockets.TcpClient'.
and it takes a couple of attempts before it reconnects, on the 7th July the same thing happened again a couple of times. So far when this happens it seems like it is just after the FTP is run. I've never seen it before these past few days. This is running on my Windows 7 system rather than Linux.

Hi Stuart, sorry this one slipped off my radar.

I've had a look at the log file, there are lots of times the FTP reconnects without the station disconnecting, so i do not think there is any correlation between the two.

It just looks like the station stops responding. It the accepts the new TCP connection, but does not respond to commands. A subsequent reconnect works fine. I guess it was busy doing "something"!
