Cumulus Support

Hi all, my first post so be gentle, having a problem this morning with my "yesterday data", it doesn't appear on the Cumulus page, I mean all the data displays are reading 0, every other data seem to be ok. I have had a look at the yesterday ini and that appears to be ok, but I'm no expert. Thanks in advance.

When you say it looks OK, does it have today's date?

I suspect you have a failed midnight rollover, so are effectively still carrying on with yesterday's totals and extremes. If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I may be able to diagnose.

It appears that you only started running Cumulus this morning? That's why you have no data for yesterday.

Odd that, was running all day yesterday, but does cumulus not download stored data from my maplin weather station when it starts up, I have had this setup since the 28th of last month, and every thing has been ok until last night, ie i turn off pc on a night and back on again the next morning.

Ok some info, I can see why you think Cumulus was only started today, when I came across this issue i reinstalled cumulus, hoping it would correct the problem. I attached the diag folder from before the reinstall.

Ah, I see - you've installed Cumulus to a different place. You previously had it in Program Files and now you have it in C:\Cumulus so it was effectively a completely new installation. That confused me.

But regarding your original problem:

Something somehow stopped Cumulus running between 22:15 last night and 08:16 this morning (but it hadn't actually been closed down), so it didn't do the midnight rollover. Any idea how that might have happened?

Yes, that would do it. Cumulus can't cope with beng hibernated, unfortunately. When it wakes up it carries on as if nothing had happened (it doesn't know) and therefore misses all of the data from while it was asleep.

Thanks Steve, going to have to rethink this then, maybe a scheduled task to stop cumulus running just before the server goes to sleep. Thanks again.

There is a "Close on suspend" option in the Cumulus station settings.
Isn't that what you need?
