Missing menu's cumulsmx templates

Post by The PIT »

I downloaded the defualt cu,ulusmx web site and Neil thomas templates. Extracted the files into a folder in mydocuments

Anyway editing one of neils templates and noticed that the menu's weren't showing. I thought they needed adding but no the javascript file pointing to them is in the file.

Okay I just messed the file up so I opened index.htlm up which I haven't changed at all and no menu's in there either.

Any changes I make in the css show striaght up so I'm missing something obivous here.

Structure is mydocuments\test folder "html files in here"\css
\js
\images
\lib
\reports

There are two separate sets of files by Neil. I am not clear to which you are referring to:
One is the CumulusMX default (included) website. You need to one-time upload all the content of your \CumulusMX\webfiles to your website where you want them to be. And also have CumulusMX do the web files interval updates through the Internet settings.

Another is the alternate interface to replace the default CumulusMX localhost dashboard https://cumuluswiki.org/a/The_Alternati ... e_(ai.cmx)
This is installed as a subfolder in \CumulusMX\interface\ and you would run it as http://localhost:8998/ai.cmx/index.html
This alternate interface has various page and colour themes.

Enjoy,
Paul

I'm using a combination of both as I need to edit the files

So at the moment the files aren't on any webserver just sat in a folder with css files etc within default faolders within that. At the moment I'm ediitng them to replace my present site.

If I change any of the css files the change shows striaght away hoever the menu's still in the orginal form don't show.

Without seeing what you have done it is really hard to help.

Could you not upload what you have to a subfolder of your main site - like www.sheffieldweather.co.uk/test/ - then people can see what you are trying to achieve and what is going wrong. The test site does not need updating data, so long as it can access a static copy that will be fine.

Okay I copied them to my nas and the menu's are working on there. No idea why they are not working locally but who cares.
