Copy existing history to new CumulusMX installation

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Copy existing history to new CumulusMX installation

Post by grupe »

My existing version is quit old. I am thinking of installing the current version on a new pi, which is also running another web program. What files do I need to copy from my old installation in order to keep all my history and records?

Everything in your "data" folder. Plus set the "Records Began Date" in settings->Station Settings->General Settings->Advanced Options menu option in the MX interface webpage. Make sure you follow the guidance and don't change the format of the date here. Set this date to the first day of the data records that you are copying to your new installation.

Make sure your new machine has the same international (locale) settings as the original machine.
Otherwise things may get tricky.
