Would that be worth trying?

Active mode is possibly worth a try. There appears to be something blocking the connection somewhere, every upload gets the error... Timed out trying to connect!

The connection logs in OK, but the transfers all fail.

How do we change it to active in cumulus?

Passive mode is unsecure you gotta open a load of ports?

I have transfered files across via ssh rather than cumulus and it works from remote but on cumulus it timed out.

My mate also does coding and works at barclays bank said theres a problem with sftp on cumulus because password authentication using username and password should work but it doesn't.

Seriously needs looking into please.

The sftp file is old and fluentftp file both are running an old version.

If i can mesage you my pi ssh details you can see sftp works on ssh not on cumulus?

What did you put in ssh config for it to work?

I just use...

Protocol = 2 - Use SSH for FTP
Port = 22
plus username & password.

But my point is, if it works for me I can't "fix it" as it isn't broke on my dev platform.

If you are prepared to share your SFTP login details and default folder, then I can try connecting to your server from here and see if I can see what the problem is.

Only on the server side (that's why some providers dislike it). They're both as secure/insecure as each other. In both cases, the data transferred between client and server is unencrypted and therefore able to be read by anybody with the knowhow.

Better off using SFTP or FTPS.

make sure you change to active ftp then passive mode and it then works.

As posted on the other thread, the short answer is no, I can't update the SSH.Net component as the new version has issues running under Mono.

Though I think there has been a major version upgrade of Mono since I last tested it.
