wind direction readings

I have a WH1091 and find that the vast majority of my wind direction readings are from N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W & NW. It is only occasionally getting readings from NNE, ENE, ESE, SSE etc etc. Is this the same with everyone else and if so why is it doing this? Surely it can't just be coincidence.

This has been covered in a couple of threads.
Basically, the inter-cardinal points you mention do not have their own dedicated reed switches, and rely on the magnet operating the TWO reed switches either side of the 'gap'. This has proven to be pretty useless, with some people NEVER getting at least one of those compass points and the others being very 'tight' in their operation.
