Import Missing Data

I'm using Easyweather as it's my only option. I run Easyweather and Cumulus at the same time and so far there haven't been any problems at all.
However, last night we had a short power cut that resulted in my computer being shut down so I have about 6 hours worth of data mssing in Cumulus. Is there any way I can import the data from EasyWeather into Cumulus and for Cumulus to recognise the new records and update accordingly?
Thanks for any help

Hi again
In the absence of any solid advice, could someone please let me know the order of the information in the Cumulus data file - I have the Easyweather info stored as a Excel file and can import manually by copy and paste.
Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark
Sorry I can't offer any great advice on automating the process, however have a look in the Wiki for the format of all the log files.
You will be most interested in the dayfile which stores the highs and lows for each day, and the monthly files which store the data snap shop each ten minutes.

if modifying any of the Cumulus files best NOT to have Cumulus running at the time. Take a backup before you start

Out of curiosity, why is running EasyWeather your only option?
You don't say what your station is, but I assume from that statement it can not use the direct connection via Cumulus

I have this one
http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=223254
If you know a way it can be directly linked to Cumulus I would be grateful
Thanks

Looks like a standard Fine Offset WH1080 to me. It even says so in the material about the software.
So: stop EasyWeather (do NOT run it simultaneously with Cumulus), define your station to Cumulus as a Fine Offset station and ignore the bits about EasyWeather.
The easiest thing for you is probably to start all over again: uninstall Cumulus, remove everything in any Cumulus folder(s), then reinstall Cumulus (in its own folder, e.g. d:\cumulus, not in c:\program files).
Once you restart Cumulus with your station as a Fine Offset station, Cumulus will read all stored data from the weather station.

Hi Dane
Thanks for the tip. I have switched it over to a FineOffset and everything is working fine. I didn't need to re-install the software either, although I understand the reason for your suggestion.
Just one final thought before I put this one to bed. I presume that my PC has to be switched on all the time to collect the data from the weather station. If I go away for a holiday I would prefer to switch it off for obvious reasons, however, my touchpad would still record the information which I could potentially use to update Cumulus. So if there are any Excel boffins out there who could create a script to do that I think that would be helpful to a lot of users.
Thanks for all your help so far guys
Mark

Mark,
your PC does not have to be online all the time. You may switch it off and go on a holiday - and when you return Cumulus will download the data accumulated in the station console.
Just remember to shut down Cumulus properly before you turn off your PC (or use the Cumulus station setting to stop it automatically)

Whe I first got my weather station (also from Maplins) I haad both EasyWeather and Cumulus running at the same time, but Cumulus kept coming up with an error saying it couldn't read the data from the station.
So I scrapped EasyWeather, and now using the far superior Cumulus
