Moon image

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Moon image

Post by oldeflyer »

Hello,
Background: Windows 10, Internet Information Services (IIS), latest MX release installed, local default Cumulus Mx web page, debug is enabled.
Doing a local copy.
Entry in Internet settings for copying is "G:\MXWeather\". All data is updating on the site except... moon image.

Generate moon image is ticked. The moon image IS being generated successfully. You can view the image moon.png file via Windows viewer and it is correct.
Copy moon image is ticked. Copy destination folder: is "G:\MXWeather\images\moon.png".
Debug file partial output is:
2022-04-08 15:50:00.775 LocalCopy: Copying Moon image file

Where is it copying this file?
Where is the default MX web page looking for it to be?

Lost in the new Cumulus,
Wayne

Hi Wayne,
If Internet settings are correct the moon.png will be created (once an hour) in local \CumulusMX\web and FTP to your remote /images
For local copying have the Copy destination folder: with full path, which is what you seem to have G:\MXWeather\images\moon.png

Enjoy,
Paul

Paul,
Thanks for the reply.
I looked at the copy location and discovered that the slashes were backwards for Windows. It came that way and I never noticed. I have been playing with Raspberry OS on an old laptop so the slashes didn't jump out at me. My bad.
Waited a few hours and the new files are being created AND copied to the assigned location.

Part two:
The updated files are not showing up on the default web page. Not a HTML guy but can throw FORTRAN around pretty well. I looked at the index.htm that the Windows IIS server is pointed at and I found this:
...src="images/moon.png"...(partial line)
It is the right file name but not a complete path. Don't know if that matters.

Hi,
That line in index.htm

Code: Select all

<td rowspan="3" style="width:75px; height: 75px; padding:0"><img src="images/moon.png" alt="Moon" width="75" height="75" class=
should work if you are uploading the moon.png to yourremote/images/moon.png

Do you have a url to your webpage?

Enjoy,
Paul

Paul,
Completely redid the copy areas of the setup, shutdown MX, restarted computer (mostly for the web services).
When the MX service restarted I checked the web files WERE being copied and went away.
Next day when I called up the web page the moon picture was correct.???
Thanks for the help.

When I got my copy straightened out on my Linux install, this thread helped my there and I was successful in getting the moon image first time.
