From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Hello all this question might be very late to ask but will try to see if some one got a fix for my issue
I been runing cumulus since 2016 and a few years ago (~2) i upgraded to MX.
After the upgrade all my "records" are gone and restarted 2020 but if i look at the historic grafs the data is still there. I know im late to ask this but is there any way to restore the "records" with out the years 2020-2022 disapers .
In cumulusmx/data there is logs like jan16log.txt so migh have the data still there?

Or is it gone gone?

The early data is still there, but not visible to MX, your problem is in a setting that by default is set to when you first run MX in 2020, it has a side-effect of stopping MX processing any earlier dates. See this documentation in Wiki if you are curious.

Change that setting, before you do anything else, to make the earlier files visible to MX:
Interface -> Settings -> Station Settings -> General Settings -> Advanced Options -> Records Began Date
Change that date, you must exactly match previous format, to the earliest date in 2016 stored in your files within the data folder. If you can't find the earliest MMMYYlog.txt file, it should also be earliest date in dayfile.txt. Don't forget to click Save settings.


After that you can use the Create Missing utility, find advice in the Wiki, but basically MX defines more fields in each line of files than Cumulus 1 stored, and the utility will work through the files (starting at the "start date" just referenced), that were created by Cumulus 1, and add those MX extra fields in those earlier files (and in earlier lines of dayfile.txt).

There is a bit more to do. Interface -> Edit -> All Time Records There are a number of extreme records that may be affected by this extra data the utility has added, so it is worth while working through all the web pages (not just All Time Records) in the edit section of interface.

this is my first logfile jan16.log.txt and first line in this long is

20-01-16;15:40;-8,2;36;-20,6;0,0;0,0;0;0,0;0,0;1013,4;3,6;21,2;19;0,0;-8,2;-8,2;0;0;0,00;0,00;-11,8;0;0,0;90;0,0;0,0

So the date format i should use is 20-01-16 without the time?

No, I mean the format used on the settings page.
That is probably a different format to what appears in file, but it is that date that will go into settings.

MX has an interface (unfortunately there is no consistency in what the developer calls it, possibly you know it as admin interface or dashboard), it shows data tables, graphs and allow you to edit settings.

It is on such a screen or web page, whatever you want to call it, that you change start date - large font in my instructions.

Thank you so much i think i got it right. Also edited all "records" took a good few hours. My record history is back :)
