I have accumulated a number of rogue All-time Records, and it is time I sorted them out. I would value some advice on how to sort them out and then keep them accurate.

Yes, but what's the best rule of thumb, look at he reading for the previous day and the day after, and make a judgement or gueass?

I would use the monthly log viewer and look at the readings either side of the rogue reading. I would then edit out the rogue readings using the log viewer. I think you can then use the records editor to load up the monthly values and make its own assessment of what the value should be.

I agree with Freddie. I always use the monthly editor search function to get at the rogue readings and then alter them to a valid reading from the record either side. Once I have done that, I use the monthly/yearly records editor and ask it to load the monthly files and then alter the records accordingly. Long winded but the best way.

Clearly I need to get on top of it and then keep a close eye, in future on anomolise, so I can deal with them at the time.

When my console and ISS were playing up and I was getting rain amounts of 25” / day I looked at half a dozen of the nearest stations to me on WU.

I used an average of them for quite a few days. You may find it’s down to a spike for each of the days in question. A pain to resolve but if you value the quality of your data it’s one of those things that needs doing.

Actually I'm lucky in tht respect a I have another Cumulus powered station within a few mile run by out local flying club.

One further question. What would an acceptable "Highest Rain Rate" be.

My record was broken in February 2022 when a squall line passed through mid-afternoon. 12” / hr. That’s 300mm. Yours of 999mm / hr is three times higher. 36” / hr. That’s not possible I think. Plus that day - 20 June 2020 - I recorded no rain.

That’s not to say you didn’t but localised rain can vary enormously. Check your nearest station for that day plus several others to see what they recorded.
