trends and recoirds

I have two identical systems Davis Pro running on Pi Zero. On their respective websites, on one Charts > Trends, and Records works fine, on the other Charts > Trends and Records are never updated. I cant spot any difference in any of the dashboard settings, but guess I am missing something, any ideas please.

I think It would be helpful if you post the logfiles for both systems (please make them distinct which is for what) with Debug on (run for half an hour or so, shutdown and post the files).
Also OK if you give the links to the sites, even if that may not be very informational atm, but it shows what you are trying to do (standard website or some template etc...).

Hans the troublesome site is https://www.warsashsc.org.uk/links/weat ... sh-weather Cumulus is running on a Pi Zero 2 W with bullseye. If you look at Records Monthly March you will see all is OK, however if you look at Records This Month, This Year, or All Time, you just get some defaults data from August, which must have been a default file in the original download. Sure problem is something I have not selected in the setup, but just cant work out what. Charts dont work properly either on this site they also show data from last August.
The good site is not currently running but if you look at 16laurel.com/cumulusmx22 you will see the data for March 1st, and all Charts, and all Records are fine, and I cant spot any difference in setup apart from Device selected, as bad site is a Davis Vantage Pro 2 and the good site is a very old Davis Vantage Pro, but pretty sure that has nothing to do with the problem. Baffled!!

The json data are from 04/03/2022 16:45:01 (the time I looked was 16:48) so that seems OK: the datafile is sent by CMX. But indeed the data in it are from august 2022 :!:
It still seems a good idea to supply the debug logfile as well.

For the charts there is a correctly formatted tempdata.json file which again contains data from august 2022. If you press the ALL button (top-left on the chart) you see that the chart starts around march 2 16h42. So, CMX is sampling data on today but there are erroneous data in your data logfiles.

From where I stand it seems there is something wrong in your datafiles. Also you seem to chart a very long period. That is a setting (Settings=>Station Settings=>Graphs=>Graph Hours). I assume that setting is very (too) large. If so, please set it e.g. to 72 (a multiple of 24 anyway, if everything is OK you may change that later).

You could:
  1. Stop CMX
  2. Check your logfiles and if any data after today to august 2022, remove them.
  3. Check your dayfile.txt any dataline with data after today: remove those
  4. Correct your records data and inifiles data (not an easy task) if everything is wrong
  5. Start CMX
You could also - if you only just started and data does not really matter yet - remove all content in the data directory and start all over again.
(this might be the easiest way)

In general the processing and file transfer seems OK.

I don't think there is a default data file in the original download, certainly none carrying data from the future. So it seems to me it is a processing error or something you did wrong installing it (is a possibility ;) ). But I think it is better somebody who knows more about this standard website to pick up the problem if the above does not resolve the issue. I don't know the internals well enough.

Hans many thanks for your helpful reply, you spotted the problem, when i look at the data txt files they all contain data for Aug 22, there is even an Aug22 month file goodness knows where that all came from. Away for a week now, but on my return will start again with a virgin copy of mx, and also clear the data logger on the Vantage Pro as maybe thats where the problem started

John
