Pantech wh2900 no rain data

So I have only just dived into using Cumulus MX and I am finding something interesting (frustrating though). I have MX running on a W10 PC - which is fine. I have the station setup to transmit the data from the weather station to MX using the HTTP upload (Ecowitt) because when I select any of the other station types it doesn't connect (it doesn't find a device for some reason). Anyways... What I have been finding is that there is data coming through fine, temp, wind, everything except for rain... Can someone shed some light on why I would not be getting any rain data?? I report the same information to WU, Windy, Weathercloud etc etc and all register the same data (exactly, right down to the rain) no problems... It is just cumulus that I seem to be have troubles with...

Could you switch on Debug and Data logging, run CumulusMX for 30 minutes and then close it down and then post the .txt in the MXdiags folder here so we can get a clue as to what is going on. Then reload CumulusMX.

You've gotta love Ecowitt and their inconsistencies!
Your station is not sending the rain data field "yearlyrainin" that it normally uses for the Ecowitt Protocol.
Your station is sending...
rainratein
eventrainin
dailyrainin
weeklyrainin
monthlyrainin
totalrainin
So no yearlyrainin !
I'll have to add a check for this field if the yearly value is missing

@Mark
yep - some of the older consoles will not provide yearlyrainin. The newer ones will provide yearly and total even if in the console you cannot see or change totalrainin.
The very new one (GW2000) provides yearly and total for the classical rain gauges (WH65, WH40) but no total anymore for the WS90. There is no train_piezo variable.
---- excerpt from custom server string of a GW2000 with a WS90 and a WH40 connected both ------
rainratein=0.000&eventrainin=0.000&hourlyrainin=0.000&dailyrainin=0.000&weeklyrainin=0.000&monthlyrainin=0.000&yearlyrainin=7.803&totalrainin=7.803&rrain_piezo=0.000&erain_piezo=0.000&hrain_piezo=0.000&drain_piezo=0.000&wrain_piezo=0.000&mrain_piezo=0.000&yrain_piezo=9.220&ws90cap_volt=0.0&ws90_ver=109
----
The GW2000 console/gateway can have only one rain gauge connected (WH65*/WH40/WS90) or two, where one has to be the WS90 with the haptic ("piezo") rain sensor:
possible combinations:
WH65*/--
WH40/--
WS90/--
WS90/WH65*
WS90/WH40
(*WH65 refers here to the rain gauge of the WH65/WS69 array)
Might be some inspiration to support the GW2001 station fully by CMX including the synoptical rain value view (one way or the other) when one classical and one haptic/piezo rain sensor are connected to a GW2000 console (and it's not to be excluded that the HP2551/GW1x00 consoles will inherit that feature too soon).

So after the problem of ecowitt changing the code for rain etc etc and it was corrected in cmx everything had worked flawlessly. Until midnight on the 10/8. Granted I was a little behind on the versions can't remember what it was now - but have updated to current 3196. The rain has just stopped recording again (and we have definitely had rain since midnight of the 10th... Can someone help me out pls... I don't know what I am looking for in the diags...

your MXDiags file shows 0.213 as daily rain for today (12-Aug-2022) - that's what you should see in CMX too.
What does your console "say" ?
On the ther hand - in order to look at what happened on 10-Aug-2022, we would need a MXDiags file which contains the 10-Aug data...
that file with a time stamp 20220810 in its name (or earlier depending on when the last restart was or the file size reached the 20 MB size).
At each restart (and when the log file grows bigger than 20 MB) a new MXDiags log file is created.

Hey everyone,
Tahnks for the offers of help - it seems as though it was just a glitch in the matrix... I have restarted cmx and when rollover happened the data finally updated...
