Default web files

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Default web files

Post by PaulMy »

I have more than one CumulusMX running, and both with the standard default web site (no modifications).
All the internet settings are the same (just a different local and remote path/folder):
[tick] Enable file copy of standard files
Specify Local copy destination folder path for each
The same Interval Configuration, Normal Interval Settings - 5-minute interval, Standard File Settings ticked...

In one CMX all the standard .json files are created/updated in and show in the \web folder, and FTP to remote, and also copied to the specified "\copies" folder. All works as expected

In the other CMX the standard .json files (airquality to winddata, and alldailyxxxx.dat) are copied to the specified "\copies" folder, and FTP to remote so all that is fine www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmx/index.htm but these updated standard .json files do not appear in the \web folder. The only difference in this CMX install is that I have added all the standard file names from this \web folder in Extra web files to FTP to another remote folder for a Saratoga template and these are FTP even though the files are not visible in the \web folder. The realtimegauges.txt and moon.png do update and show in this \web folder.

These standard files did initially show in the \web folder but the last time was in early January. Not an operational issue, just strange. Any thoughts?

Enjoy,
Paul

The Error messages say that you appear to be using an incorrect login name in your FTP setup, therefore MX cannot FTP files to your server.

As @water01 states, there is a problem with your username.
However, I notice from your error messages that the realtime FTP process says that it will wait 20 seconds before trying to connect again, yet immediately attempts a reconnection. One for @mcrossley?

Thank you.

But ftp/ftps over Total Commander is successful. The folders and files were copied.

Same username, same passwort.

I can't understand.

Thank you for answers.

I defined a new access to my hosted domain ftp.

New username, new password, ftp via port 21.

The data were copied. Most are shown, but the gauges do not work.

I know that @elwe sorted his issue out by using ftp instead of ftps, but out of curiosity

the error message was:
"RealtimeFTPLogin: Error connecting ftp - Der angeforderte Name ist gültig, es wurden jedoch keine Daten des angeforderten Typs gefunden"
from where do you read that an incorrect login name was used ?? (especially when the login credentials worked with a ftp client)

In English, the message says, "Error connecting ftp - the requested name is valid, however no data of the requested type was found"
login name ???
Could you enlighten me here ?

Often this ftp error occurs when you e.g. do not use a standard port (here it would have to be port 22 for ftps) or you have a BLANK /SPACE in your domain/port combination which shouldn't be there and can easily remain unnoticed.

I'd like to see the full log file please.
