Updating moon, graphs & User reports

Post by LindaFNM »

Oh dear! On a very wet and windy afternoon I’ve spent most of it making a mess of my Utils installation
I think I’ve more or less got it back to working but have the following issues, sorry about this:

The moon image isn’t updating although it’s being put in the correct directory by MX, and the .ini file has true in the right place. I seem to be stuck with an old image.

If I click on the cells for pressure, temperature and rain the graphs don’t appear. The index page just opens with a blank space where the graph used to be. Drop down boxes do. Wind seems OK though.

I still can’t get the wretched User reports to update although tmp.txt files are appearing in the web files!

Please is there anything obvious that I’ve lost/corrupted or messed up? Thanks very much

Oops, sorry, ignore the moon issue, it’s fine!! No idea what I was looking at when I wrote that.

Hi Linda,

That's a nice way to spent a bad weather afternoon
So if I understand it well the following points are still there:

  1. Did you run the website command?
  2. Does the initial chart show?
  3. Do you use the ChartsCompiler (CutilsCharts.def is present in the utils directory) or the default Home button charts (both are named cumuluscharts.txt but have totally different content)?
  4. Did the cumulusutils.js library copy correctly (because that is where the loader is - check the file times)?
  5. Did any file copy INcorrectly?
If nothing gives a solution, could you remove all target files and run again? This makes very clear what is copied and what not. Can you make a directory listing of the target directory and the lib directory.
Can you make sure the libraries are OK?

If everything fails, can you press F12 (opens the Console/Inspector), get back to the site tab and refresh the page. Then goto the Console tab and make a screen shot. Post It please. If it is a long list of messages (red in colour) comes up, make sure you have the first one in the screen shot.

I thought you did update the UserReports through the Extra Webfiles feature of CMX?
If so, you will have to search there for the cause. Is the source of the extra webfiles OK? Let me know where this leads to.

Hans,

Thanks for your usual swift reply! Hmm, not so sure about that, OK if you improve things not make them worse :) but the weather has been truly horrible.

Ah, I wonder if it’s in the charts? I will start tomorrow and work my way through your suggestions. I just make things worse if I do too much in one go, that’s what happened earlier.

I’ll let you know how it goes…..

OK. And before I forget: as this is blind support (I can't see the resulting site) with manual file copy, be sure to post the latest full run logfile corresponding to every progressing step!
