WH1081 data recall query

On a few occasions - largely because I run the Cumulus s/w on the same computer that I use to ingest live data from weather satellite transmissions - the computer hangs. Nothing but a reboot will work.

I notice when I re-started Cumulus it seemed to collect some archive data, but it has obviously interpolated data from about 1430 this afternoon until 1930 when the machine had hung up. Here's the questions!!

1. Would a hung machine prevent the WH1081 from accessing the external instruments?

2. What does the max of 4098 data sets in the unit relate to in terms of time I wonder?

3. I used to get a green light flashing in Cu to say new record - it doesn't now - is this wrong?

4. Do I need to do anything else to get historic data from the unit?

I am using the latest beta

Cheers
(Apologies for all the queries)

No, but if Cumulus was still running it might be prevented from accessing the station but still logging the data. When you say the data is "interpolated" is there actually a gap in the dec09log, or has the same data been logged repeatedly?
2. What does the max of 4098 data sets in the unit relate to in terms of time I wonder?
Depends on the interval you've set in the station. At the minimum of 5 minutes, it's about 2 weeks, and so on.

No - but if Cumulus thought it already had the data, it won't try to download it.

Many thanks Steve - incredible product support here!!

I'm guessing at the interpolation by looking at the graph visible here:

I've included a log here in case it sheds any light - if I have got the right file:

Any thoughts would be greatfully received.

Cheers

When Cumulus is running it grabs raw data and updates the large graph at one minute intervals but for the data downloaded from the WS the data interval is decided by the WS console setting (minimum of 5 mins - factory default 30 mins). So the left hand side data comes from the WS memory and the right hand side (after Cumulus started) comes from the Cumulus data log and the 1 min interval.

Yes, Gina's explanation is correct. You have your logger set to 30 minutes, so there aren't many points available to plot when Cumulus downloaded the data when you got it going again.

I'm confused - the Cumulus console station setting is at 10minutes - do I need to temporarily revert to Easyweather to change this I wonder?

Looking at the log text above - logging seems to be at 10 minutes as per above - could you explain where the 30 minute setting is to be seen?

Cheers

It's the station logger interval that's 30 minutes, and Cumulus can't change that - you do need to use EW for that.

Many thanks - all done and dusted now I hope!
