Error: 500(error)

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Error: 500(error)

Post by Cambium »

I just wanted to change the threshold for the NOAA max/min temps... I got this message when trying to save the changes.

Error: 500(error) - Error de-serializing NOAA Settings JSON: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Runtime.CompilerServices.Unsafe, Version=4.0.4.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

I can't see anything in the log that shows this error.
Looking at the browser error message, it appears to be complaining about a component that is the incorrect version. Have you upgraded recently? If so, did all the changed files get copied into the installation? Also, do you get this message when saving any setting?

Looks like the "System.Runtime.CompilerServices.Unsafe.dll" file cannot be found, or it is the wrong version. This file is supplied in the CMX distribution zip.

No upgrade recently except Windows10 decides to do its own sometimes. Wish I can stop that.

Yes, to any saved setting through the browser

As @mcrossley states, there's something kooky about a DLL file. I would find that one in your distribution zip and copy it in to your MX installation.

Forgive my dumbness but I found it in the MX file, what do I need to do now? How do I know if its the right version?

I'm running Cumulus MX v.3.14.0 build 3159

Thanks Guys

If the MX file is the one for build 3159 (the build number is in the filename) then extract the DLL and copy it to your MX installation. If it's not then you need to download the correct distribution file, and then extract the DLL and copy to your MX installation.

Yup, file name shows 3159. I tried copying and pasting and replacing the file in there but same thing happening. Where do I find the distribution file to download? Sorry if thats a dumb question.

Does it have anything to do with the CreateMIssing.exe file downloaded and ran?

Downloaded, extracted, copied the dll file, pasted it into MX folder, replaced other dll and still doesnt work. :groan: Weird.. It used to work.

EDIT:::

Just downloaded the latest build 3169 and ran through the 1st time wizard setup again.. All good.

The save settings is fixed

Morning guys. Odd, I'm getting the same message again this morning when trying to save a setting in the NOAA Settings

EDIT:: Its working Now. Very strange. All I did was rename the Cumulus folder becasue I was going to redownload it again and wanted to keep the current folder without losing any data. But I renamed it back to CumulusMx. Tried opening the program again, and now it's saving fine. Odd.
