Trouble Uploading NOAA Reports

Not sure what I'mdoing wrong here,

It's on my Test Build, but I can't seem to get the NOAA Reports to Upload.

Code: Select all

The Local File <CUMULUSMXINSTALLDIR>\Reports\NOAAMO0222.txt Is There and I can view the file on Windows fine.
The FTP location /Reports is also there with the correct case for Capital R

Not sure what I'm missing.
Is it saying it can't find the Source File, or it can't put the remote file?
As on the FTP Server (Web Server in the /Reports there isn't a /Reports/NOAAMO0222.txttmp as I though that this was the temp file that gets created whilst it's renamed?

On My Normal Working NOAA Reports going to the Real Webserver it all works fine.
As far as I can see the paths are correct

Code: Select all

2022-02-03 00:00:02.167 SFTP[Int]: Error uploading Reports\NOAAMO0222.txt to /Reports/NOAAMO0222.txttmp : No such file
Possibly an extra '/' forward slash in your NOAA Settings ?
If it is working on one then it should on the other as well, with appropriate changes for remote file location.

Enjoy,
Paul

Thanks Paul,

I'm not use to the Windows version now, so maybe I do need to just remove the leading / despite having it on the Unix (Raspberry Version)

On the Raspberry Pi I'm sending it it to a Internet Webhost and have it set-up as following

On Raspberry Pi
Pi_NOAA.PNG
(Note the Report Directory on the Webserver is /reports with lowercase r)

On the PC
PC_NOAA.PNG
(Note the Report Directory on the Webserver is /Reports with an uppercase R)

So apart from I have different report directory names, and on the PC the Source Directory paths are different being windows based, but as far as I can see you don't set where the source file is.

I'm sure I've done something wrong, but for the life of me I can't see it.

Hi,
I am using Windows 10. For this site http://www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmx/noaareport.htm I have the NOAA files in remote cumulusmx/Reports
i.e. http://www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmx/ ... MO0222.txt

I have my NOAA settings for NOAA FTP folder: public_html/cumulusmx/Reports

Enjoy,
Paul

On your web server path, try using Reports - i.e. without the preceding "/"

Actually I had never thought of it on the local side as always (for over 10 years) presumed it was fixed as \Reports and that is how the Download Distribution Zips have come until that was dropped a few months ago. I know the file names and FTP settings allow for different remote folders.

From my cumulus.ini file

Thanks both.

I'll try both options, also is there a way to Force an FTP Upload of the NOAA Data, as far as I can tell it only happens at Rollover, and the FTP NOW only does the Graphs and normal Web files?

If so I'll have to make the change, and then see what happens.

I'm sure I've already tried the full FTP path as it would appear on my Raspberry Pi

/var/www/html/Reports
And I'm sure that didn't work.

I'm not sure if I have tried just Reports with no Prefixed /

Hmmmm.

It's not going to be this Option on the General FTP Settings is it?
FTP_Rename.PNG
I'm not sure if the Raspberry Pi STP supports an FTP rename?
I won; try that yet, will just try one thing at a time,

Hi,
Correct, processed, and FTP if set, at rollover. However you can use the (Re)Generate Report to create past reports which would then be placed in your CumulusMX\Reports folder and you can then manual FTP to your site.

Enjoy,
Paul

Thank Paul for confirming.

I'll wait and see what happens tonight, (oh and just wathing one of my realtime files update on the Server)
It seems the rename does work as my vars.php was uploaded as vars,phptmp and then was renamed.

So I think it's probably the report file path name,

I've change mione now too

Code: Select all

[NOAA]
Name=CM2Weather
City=Chelmsford
State=Essex
12hourformat=0
HeatingThreshold=18.300000000000001
CoolingThreshold=18.300000000000001
MaxTempComp1=27
MaxTempComp2=0
MinTempComp1=0
MinTempComp2=-18
RainComp1=0.20000000000000001
RainComp2=2
RainComp3=20
AutoSave=1
AutoFTP=1
FTPDirectory=Reports
AutoCopy=0
CopyDirectory=
MonthFileFormat='NOAAMO'MMyy'.txt'
YearFileFormat='NOAAYR'yyyy'.txt'
NOAAUseUTF8=1
UseDotDecimal=1
UseMinMaxAvg=1
If it doesn't work tonight I'll try the file remote path again as /var/www/html/Reports
Thanks both.

I'll let you know if either work!

:)

but if I change to not delete before update it loads.
The free web site I use is close to full so I delete before update.
Yes I could get another site but until I change from the standard web files this site will do.

I'll try the Full Path name tonight /var/www/html/Reports

I use /noaa

I did set up an FTP account specifically for Cumulus MX, rather than using my global FTP details.

I had a similar problem several years ago. My problem turned out to be that I was using "Reports" with a capital "R" as the folder name in CUMX as the FTP folder, instead of the actual folder name on my web site which was "reports" with a small "r". If you go to your web site using this link: https://cm2weather.co.uk/reports/NOAAMO0122.txt you will see your NOAAMO0122.txt in the web folder "reports" (small "r"). My set up is: public_html/Reports (www also works) so renaming your web site folder and and using public_html/ or www/ before the "Reports" web folder name should work for you after renaming your web site folder.
