I had a reply from Ecowitt:
This can happen if there is water drops coming to the sensor surface.
To which I responded:
I am not so sure about the droplet explanation. There was a storm raging (force 9; 30 - 50 mph) at that moment, so little chance for droplets to settle on the surface.
But regard it just as info, I think the problem does not seem to be solved by disabling the non-used sensors.
The saga continues, so far they did not convince me the problem has been solved.

Thanks for that............I am looking to check firmware once I have taken delivery of scaffold :x :bash: ...........One reply in WXForum suggested it may be a power issue......The USB Plug / Socket is a purpose made item and was used with GW1000 for approx 10 months with no issues...

Am I to understand you have contacted Ecowitt with my issue ( I understand you have an ongoing issue ) or should I make them aware independant of your dialogue ?

As to moisture, up to Sunday / Monday 31st Jan we had 18 days without any rain......Sunday we had 0.9mm of rain mid evening followed by wind in excess of 50mph.

On the WxForum several possible reasons for the gw1000/1100 fails are proposed. Not with a certain truth so I am reluctant to react on all and accept as true.

I pointed Ecowitt to the occurrence of the situation yes as it it falls within the problem definition of my ongoing issue.

OK. So the droplet theory could only be true with dew. I suppose - which I argued - that cannot be true in high wind situations.

And so we wait further ... for me the ball is still in Ecowitt's court ;)
