Example Of A realtime-xT.txt Template File?

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Example Of A realtime-xT.txt Template File?

Post by randy52644 »

I'm trying to understand how to create a realtime-xT.txt template file to create a file only listing the weather values I need instead of the defaulted 59.
I found the wiki about creating the file but I'm not getting it. The only values I would like to have are <#temp>, <#dew>, <#wchill> and <#heatindex>.
An example file would be great. I could edit it to fit my needs.

Here is the content of a realtime-xT.txt file for a third-party website template:

Code: Select all

<#date format=dd/MM/yy>~<#timehhmmss>~<#temp>~<#hum>~<#dew>~<#wspeed>~<#wlatest>~<#bearing>~<#rrate>~<#rfall>~<#press>~<#currentwdir>~<#beaufortnumber>~<#windunit>~<#tempunitnodeg>~<#pressunit>~<#rainunit>~<#windrun>~<#presstrendval>~<#rmonth>~<#ryear>~<#rfallY>~<#intemp>~<#inhum>~<#wchill>~<#temptrend>~<#tempTH>~<#TtempTH>~<#tempTL>~<#TtempTL>~<#windTM>~<#TwindTM>~<#wgustTM>~<#TwgustTM>~<#pressTH>~<#TpressTH>~<#pressTL>~<#TpressTL>~<#version>~<#build>~<#wgust>~<#heatindex>~<#humidex>~<#UV>~<#ET dp=2>~<#SolarRad>~<#avgbearing>~<#rhour>~<#forecastnumber>~<#isdaylight>~<#SensorContactLost>~<#wdir>~<#cloudbasevalue>~<#cloudbaseunit>~<#apptemp>~<#SunshineHours>~<#CurrentSolarMax>~<#IsSunny>~<#humTH>~<#humTL>~<#ThumTH>~<#ThumTL>~<#dewpointTH>~<#dewpointTL>~<#TdewpointTH>~<#TdewpointTL>~<#apptempTH>~<#apptempTL>~<#TapptempTH>~<#TapptempTL>~<#wchillTL>~<#TwchillTL>~<#solarTH>~<#TsolarTH>~<#UVTH>~<#TUVTH>~<#rrateTM>~<#r24hour>~<#StormRain>~<#MinutesSinceLastRainTip>~<#forecast>~<#sunrise>~<#sunset>~<#moonrise>~<#moonset>~<#MoonAge>~<#MoonPercent>~<#MoonPercentAbs>~<#moonphase>~<#temptrendenglish>~<#presstrendenglish>~<#beaudesc>~<#heatindexH>~<#heatindexTH>~<#TheatindexTH>~<#feelslike>~<#feelslikeH>~<#feelslikeTH>~<#TfeelslikeTH>~<#feelslikeL>~<#feelslikeTL>~<#TfeelslikeTL>~<#feelslikeYH>~<#feelslikeYL>~<#TfeelslikeYH>~<#TfeelslikeYL>~<#apptempYH>~<#apptempYL>~<#TapptempYH>~<#TapptempYL>~<#dewpointYH>~<#dewpointYL>~<#TdewpointYH>~<#TdewpointYL>~<#humYH>~<#humYL>~<#ThumYH>~<#ThumYL>~<#pressYH>~<#pressYL>~<#TpressYH>~<#TpressYL>~<#tempYH>~<#tempYL>~<#TtempYH>~<#TtempYL>~<#heatindexYH>~<#TheatindexYH>~<#wchillYL>~<#TwchillYL>~<#domwinddir>~<#domwinddirY>~<#domwindbearing>~<#domwindbearingY>~<#windYM>~<#TwindYM>~<#wgustYM>~<#TwgustYM>~<#windrunY>~<#solarYH>~<#TsolarYH>~<#YSunshineHours>~<#UVYH>~<#TUVYH>~<#windrununit>~<#tempunit>~<#hourlyrainTH>~<#hourlyrainYH>~<#rrateYM>~<#TrrateTM>~<#TrrateYM>~<#temprange>~<#temprangeY>~<#ThourlyrainTH>~<#ThourlyrainYH>~<#humidexTH>~<#ThumidexTH>~<#humidexYH>~<#ThumidexYH>~<#dawn>~<#dusk>~<#daylightlength>~<#daylength>~<#AirLinkPm1In>~<#AirLinkPm2p5In>~<#AirLinkPm2p5_1hrIn>~<#AirLinkPm2p5_3hrIn>~<#AirLinkPm2p5_24hrIn>~<#AirLinkPm2p5_NowcastIn>~<#AirLinkPm10In>~<#AirLinkPm10_1hrIn>~<#AirLinkPm10_3hrIn>~<#AirLinkPm10_24hrIn>~<#AirLinkPm10_NowcastIn>~<#AirLinkPm1Out>~<#AirLinkPm2p5Out>~<#AirLinkPm2p5_1hrOut>~<#AirLinkPm2p5_3hrOut>~<#AirLinkPm2p5_24hrOut>~<#AirLinkPm2p5_NowcastOut>~<#AirLinkPm10Out>~<#AirLinkPm10_1hrOut>~<#AirLinkPm10_3hrOut>~<#AirLinkPm10_24hrOut>~<#AirLinkPm10_NowcastOut>~<#AirLinkAqiPm2p5In>~<#AirLinkAqiPm2p5_1hrIn>~<#AirLinkAqiPm2p5_3hrIn>~<#AirLinkAqiPm2p5_24hrIn>~<#AirLinkAqiPm2p5_NowcastIn>~<#AirLinkAqiPm10In>~<#AirLinkAqiPm10_1hrIn>~<#AirLinkAqiPm10_3hrIn>~<#AirLinkAqiPm10_24hrIn>~<#AirLinkAqiPm10_NowcastIn>~<#AirLinkAqiPm2p5Out>~<#AirLinkAqiPm2p5_1hrOut>~<#AirLinkAqiPm2p5_3hrOut>~<#AirLinkAqiPm2p5_24hrOut>~<#AirLinkAqiPm2p5_NowcastOut>~<#AirLinkAqiPm10Out>~<#AirLinkAqiPm10_1hrOut>~<#AirLinkAqiPm10_3hrOut>~<#AirLinkAqiPm10_24hrOut>~<#AirLinkAqiPm10_NowcastOut>~<#AirLinkPct_1hrIn>~<#AirLinkPct_3hrIn>~<#AirLinkPct_24hrIn>~<#AirLinkPct_NowcastIn>~<#AirLinkPct_1hrOut>~<#AirLinkPct_3hrOut>~<#AirLinkPct_24hrOut>~<#AirLinkPct_NowcastOut>~<#CO2>~<#CO2-24h>~<#CO2-pm2p5>~<#CO2-pm2p5-24h>~<#CO2-pm10>~<#CO2-pm10-24h>~<#THSWindex>~<#THWindex>~<#PressChangeLast3Hours>
and shows as http://komokaweather.com/cumulusmxwll/realtime-x.txt

You can start from scratch or take out the webtags you don't want. Also can change how to display - i.e. take out or replace the ~

Enjoy,
Paul

Well that looks simple enough but it's not working for me. I assume that is the complete content of the file? Just web tags with ~ between?

Using Notepad I created realtime-xT.txt and included only the web tags I wanted.

Dropped this file into CumulusMX/web then went to extra web files and entered the local name as well as the remote file name to the directory on my local server. Checked boxes Process, Realtime and FTP.

I've done this years ago with some html files I created for my own dashboard so essentially duplicated the same. However the new realtime-xT.txt file is not showing up on the server.

Hi,
Yes, should be just as what I inserted as that is from a working file. Have you checked MXdiags and see any messages on the processing and FTP? You may need to enable FTP logging.

Possible an issue is using notepad to do the edit or creation. It is highly recommended to use something better, like Notepad++

EDIT:
Did you place the files in \web and is there then a realtime-x.txt or realtime-x.txttmp file created?

Enjoy,
Paul

This is all you need.
realtimeRandyT.txt
.

The filename should be unique and can be anything but note the T.txt, and placed in the CumulusMX\web folder.

Be sure to add the correct format to an entry in Extra Web Files - e.g.

LOCAL FILENAME REMOTE FILENAME PROCESS REALTIME FTP UTF8 BINARY END OF DAY
C:\CumulusMX\web\realtimeRandyT.txt httpdocs/mxtest/realtimeRandy.txt tick tick tick tick notick notick

httpdocs/mxtest will need to be changed to suit your website location.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Thanks everyone! Appears to be working now. I (think) my issue was a file permissions setting. Changed that and saw the .tmp get appended to the end of the file name.
