Sorry, but another reatime gauges not working thread

Post by hills »

This one has got me stumped. I've searched the forum and think I have everything set up right, but my realtime gauges are not appearing.

I have downloaded the updated gaugesT.htm that has the pop up values (looks great by the way, thankyou very much!! :D )
I have ticked the enable realtime box with an update of 30 seconds as I have a fine offset WH1091 which I've read on here only updates every 48 seconds.
My reatime.txt file seems to be uploading and is working fine for my banner, but I still don't see the realtime gauges.

Have I missed anything obvious?

My site is: http://members.ozemail.com.au/~storerfa ... gauges.htm

Thanks

Phil

I don't think I've seen that before; the Flash application is failing to load. Perhaps it's corrupt in some way - did you upload it in binary mode? Or maybe your server has a problem serving SWF files?

I uploaded it in the default mode, but I can't see if that is bin or ascii. I'll try uploading it again and select bin to make sure. Which files do I need to resend to cover the flash application?

EDIT: After re reading the instructions I assume it is CumulusRealtime.swf. If so I have resent that in binary but its still not working.

FTP clients are normally quite good at guessing the right mode, so I think that probably isn't it, more likely your server. It's just the CumulusRealtime.swf file that you need.

Ok thanks, I won't worry about it then. As stated in another thread, if fine offset only send data every 48 seconds then its not really realtime anyway. I'll take that section out of the gaugesT.htm file.

If I turn off realtime again will my banner will still update every 15 minutes when all other files are sent won't it?

NO ! - The (server side php) banner script uses realtime.txt to populate its data.

The banner is NOT any part of Cumulus 'standard' files, nor is it generated / processed by Cumulus.

Thanks Beteljuice, I am aware of all that, but I thought I read on here that the realtime.txt got uploaded with the "normal" upload even if realtime is turned off.

Anywho as Steve told me how to get the realtime gauges working, I'm leaving it on now anyway. ;)

Cheers
