Does anyone Still have active Weather Webcams on their site anymore.

Mine got taken offline a while ago, and I've never quiet got round to replacing it.
I've had a few.

1st was a Microsoft LifeCam streaming via a PC.
Next cam one of the External Nest CAMS and a Live Stream.

Now looking at doing another one, but not sure of a sensible price point.

All The FOSCAMS and then IP now seem to have the same issue with not being able to have an HTTPS Server which then leads to the Camera not displaying correctly, not sure on these if you can get a working Live Stream to YouTube, but that is the only Alternative I can think of.

I did buy one of the New Nest Cameras from Google, but that one seem to work in the APP.

Not sure if the Amazon Camera can do a Live Web Stream either... not had any experience of these..

And Axis Webcams are way out of my price range, but I know these do work with a subscription I presume direct to you tube!

Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge are now blocking HTTP content that is served through HTTPS (Mixed). If the webcam image is not showing, you can add WarehamWx as a trusted site, as follows:
Put chrome://settings/content/insecureContent (or edge://settings/content/insecureContent) in to your address bar and press enter. Click Add under Allow. Type in [*.]warehamwx.co.uk and click Add. Refresh page.

I'm on slow copper broadband, so at the moment, its the only feasible way to show my camera almost 'live'

FTTP has been installed now, but still waiting on it going live. Once it does, I'll stream it to a site, then imbed it in to mine.

It's easy to get Foscam's on YouTube, using either IPTimelapse or OBS Studio.

I use ieGeek IP cams. Cheap Chinese kit but very reliable. You can stream with independent (and sometimes free) software such as Motion. I have 2 cameras streaming to my website. Amazon link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ieGeek-Securit ... to&sr=1-13

My broadband isn't too bad (not as good as lots by any means still FTTC) and I'm getting about 15mbps upload.

I've already got 4 Google Camera Streams uuploading but all private

The Cheap Cameras might be they way forward.

Something like a Foscam or the ieGeek.

I did think about HikVisions as well or a Reolink.
Either that or it's going to be build a Raspicamera and then streaming that, but I think I'd want to try and do a PoE as I'm sure all my current streams are swamping bandwidth.

I'm sure a few years ago there was more active sites with Cameras though....

You're lucky to get 15Mbps. I get 0.8

But, when they make FTTP live, I will jump to 73Mbps up..

I've waited over 12 years for that ..

I like the YouTube integration with the weather overlay.
Very good.

That would be my Ultimate aim of possible, was all that done with the Reolink then or something more expensive.

The Burnham-on-Sea seafront webcam is not mine and I don't know what camera they use but it belongs to https://www.burnham-on-sea.com/ which is funded website for Burham-on-Sea so they can afford the streaming to YouTube as they have FTTP line.

My Internet connection is copper still although FTTP is promised this year and I will consider it then, steaming would eat too much bandwith. Mine is the still image with the weather overlay which comes courtesy of IpTimeLapse that automatically as my WeatherUnderground readings to the image. It also produces the TimeLapse videos.

@water01 if done carefully then streaming doesn't use that much bandwidth. I have two cameras streaming 1920x1080 at 15 frames per second maximum. That translates to approx 500 kbps upstream bandwidth. It's a bit more during the day when the pictures are "busier" but 500 is a good 24 hour average.

May try it Freddie but I need to check with my ISP as I believe there is a Bandwidth limitation which I may exceed if I try it.

500kbps is still a problem for copper connections like mine. Streaming at that speed slows all of my internet down..

I've got FWA rather than wired, with 10Mbps upstream. I guess if it's a lot less than this then you may run into problems.

Yes I believe 10Mbps upstream is far more than Freddie and Mapantz currently have.

The only thing that puts me off with the IP Camera now is to do the stream to YouTube which is what I would prefer to do, is I believe you need a PC to run it on.

I did get a Live Stream off one of My Raspberry Pis so that maybe an option, but I'd then need to get a WaterProof Mount for it, with power and network

I'd love FTTP to come to me as well, but I guess I should be happy with the speeds I'm getting from FTTC.

I've figured out a workaround for the HTTPS problem with the webcams. I created a php page that just shows the static image using imagecreatefromjpeg() and then just put the link to that page in to my website's webcam page, and the padlock is enabled.
