WLL Questions

Post by Mapantz »

I'm just setting up my WLL again..

I have upgraded my temp/humidity sensor since I last had a WLL, which meant I had to add a -0.5°C offset to the console. Do I need to do the same to WLL? As it is reading 0.5°C higher.

I hate all of this confusion with offsets etc

I forgot how complicated it is to set WLL up... easy as 1..2..3? Yeah right..

All temp readings have suddenly disappeared..

No wind speeds now..

And the temperature is showing a reading that doesn't correspond to anything I have installed.

How on earth can Davis make such a simple thing so complicated?

TBH I found it pretty simple - ducks!

Answer to your first question is yes, you will need to added the same offset to the WLL config, it is a requirement of the ISS transmitter rather than the receiver.

Are you using the set-up on the web page or the phone app? I found it easier to use the web set-up.

yep - using the webpage.

I remember I had this issue before, I was told information that does not appear anywhere in the instructions, that was by John and Davis. Eventually it worked correctly.

Everything was showing, I left it, and then all temperatures blanked out...

I changed a setting, temps came back, but the wind stopped showing. I have done everything the set up asks, so I know for a fact that Davis have missed out vital information.

I think I have got it now..

ISS as primary but in advanced settings, I had to select the anemometer transmitter as "Anemometer" and in the Anemometer settings, "Select Anemometer" had to be set to "This Device"

Is it possible to edit the extra sensors titles? I think showing "Temp 1" "Temp 2" etc, looks confusing. I can only imagine how worse it would be with more sensors..

I have noticed something regarding extra sensors.. since adding the soil/leaf transmitter to WLL, the readings no longer show on my console. That's a bit odd?!

Edit:

Soil Temp 2 is back showing on the console, but Soil Temp 1 is still blank.. I find that rather strange

Yep, I have that config too - perhaps not too intuitive I'll admit

No I do not think so, you can only set the name of the transmitter they are connected to - though you can set the names in CMX of course! ;)

No they all seem to randomly flash now and then when they are "doing something" internally. As mine is in a bedroom for reception I stuck a bit of bluetack over the LED!

I've just done some trouble shooting on my soil transmitter as all the values disappeared.

I actually took the transmitter down and due to the long length of the temp probes, I could take it inside of my shed. I also took my console out there so that they were side-by-side.

RSSI is 60, as you would expect. However, in diagnostics, it continually changes to - - - - -

I cannot get a packet streak beyond 10. That doesn't seem right to me?

Edit: Out of interest, how long does it take for the WLL health data to show up? It's still showing nothing after 3 hours

The WLL health data should update every 15 minutes, the transmitters every archive interval.

The soil transmitter does not sound good - is the WLL still picking it up OK?
