NOAA files will not FTP to Website

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

NOAA files will not FTP to Website

Post by GeorgeF »

I am running the latest version of CMX 3160 and have activated the NOAA reports for the first time
Have set up the FTP Options to the Reports directory on the website and although the reports are generated fine the following part of the MXDiags logfile shows the following

2022-01-06 00:00:00.214 Creating NOAA monthly report for 05 January 2022
2022-01-06 00:00:00.704 Saving monthly report as Reports\NOAAMO0122.txt
2022-01-06 00:00:00.706 Creating NOAA yearly report
2022-01-06 00:00:01.527 Saving yearly report as Reports\NOAAYR2022.txt
2022-01-06 00:00:01.528 NOAA reports will be uploaded at next web update
2022-01-06 00:00:02.050 If required the daily graph data files will be uploaded at next web update

2022-01-06 00:00:43.095 FTP[Int]: Process complete

The permissons for the Reports file are identical to the other sub directories in folder structure and I have no problem with anything else and can FTP to this directory using the anonymous user from other software. My only thought is the / or \ in the relative path?

I have tried using just the default FTP directory by leaving it it blank in the FTP Options but this doesn't even attempt to FTP the report files!
This can be seen in the following

What do you have as the remote folder in your "normal" FTP settings?

The remote FTP directory is Weather and all the webfiles and sub directories are below that - including Reports sub directory. For example Weather/images gets updates of the moon.png successfully.

OK, so your NOAA reports folder is Weather/Reports then?

So have you tried putting that into the NOAA FTP folder field?

That did the trick - thank you.

Misunderstood the text around this option in the NOAA Settings FTP setup - I thought it was relative to the root directory of the main FTP option, in my case Weather, not the root directory of the FTP server

I can see that confusion. It is relative to the FTP root as some people want to put their reports elsewhere.
