Today I had to move my computer along the desk which meant disconnecting everything... everything went fine until it came to the vue talking to the computer again and the dreaded error number 32701 came up!
The only difference I can think of was it was plugged into a different USB port on the back of the computer... I've tried to get it to see the Davis Vue but without success so until I can figure out what is wrong I've no connection!!
If anyone has a set method of what to do or try next it would be welcome port setting is correct by the way and the weather link software when run to look for the port stops on port 5 then continues to scan and report no station could be found...

I don't know anything about the USB/serial driver, but does it come with a setup program that you could run to re-configure the port? Or perhaps reinstall the USB/serial driver?

Re: Davis Vue lost port!
Hi Steve, tried that made sure it was the right port and speed even downloaded the latest version from silicon but it just won't see the Vue, at this point I have given up as I have other things to play with like me remote helicopter (big kid) and a new imac but when I get a clearer head or somebody can offer anything to try I'll have another go... and I'll also email Davis to see if they have a suggestion... thanks for the reply and hope you had a nice Christmas, all the best for the new year.

Wow! I am kind of very surprised by your statement...tomcatuk wrote:...never ever thought it would be the data logger it had fell out of its socket, not impressed with the fit so gonna put a small piece of foam in to make sure it don't drop out again...
I have 3 different types of the Davis WeatherLink (datalogger) adapters, a serial, a USB and a IP.
No matter how often I moved the Vantage Pro2 console (or the Vantage Envoy unit) around, at no time did any of the adapter just 'fell out' of their socket...
So much so that I had to use some pliers when I recently remove the WeatherLinkIP adapter from my Vantage Vue console to transfer it to my Vantage Pro2 console - and I also had to use the same pliers to remove the WeatherLink serial adapter from the Vantage Pro2 console...
Something is definitively not right - those WeatherLink adapters have been designed to fit 'snugly' into their sockets...

Re: Davis Vue lost port!
I guess they must have cut corners with the Vue connection; there's no way the logger is going to come loose from a VP2. As Ray says, it's actually quite difficult to remove intentionally!

Well, Steve and STEVE...steve wrote:I guess they must have cut corners with the Vue connection; there's no way the logger is going to come loose from a VP2. As Ray says, it's actually quite difficult to remove intentionally!
I also have a Vantage Vue console (as I indicated in my previous message) and when I recently removed the WeatherLinkIP adapter from that Vantage Vue console, I had to use pliers...
Thus my surprise when Steve mentioned that the WeatherLink USB adapter just 'fell out' of its socket ... the adapter fits so 'snugly' into its socket...
Oh, both the Vantage Vue console and the WeatherLinkIP were purchased about 3 months ago.
