Rainfall YTD wrong

Post by aznetcowboy »

My YTD Records for 2022 are showing the rain for the YTD as "Rain Year To Date 45.97 in" in the file wxcuyear.php. No way. We had a little light fluffy snow last evening, maybe a half inch (can't tell due to the very high winds). No way we had 45.97" since midnight December 31st. I've been searching where the number comes from. All other YTD figures are correct. Where do I look to find where this figure comes from so I can correct it to zero?

See RH screen shot at https://cumuluswiki.org/a/Cumulus_Screenshots#Station - which month do you have set for Rainfall Season Start?
If that does not solve the issue, look at Cumulus author's answer to where what he called "rainfall this year" comes from.

Tom, you are using Cumulus 1.9.4 build 1096 (an old unsupported build, read https://cumuluswiki.org/a/Version_1.9.4#1096 onwards to see bug fixes/enhancements made after your build until 1099.2 which was final build of that legacy software and can be downloaded from https://cumuluswiki.org/a/Downloads).

(An alternative Cumulus MX has been available with more functionality for a few years, including automatic uploading to a database server.
Although I am unsure if anyone uses Saratoga templates with this functionality, databases do make it very easy to report both YTD and season figures for all derivatives, as my website does)

You are in good company, this has confused many people for many years. Here is Cumulus author's response to me about this YTD/Season confusion.
Here is just a selection of previous posts on the subject that I later assembled in connection with the above post (I'm sharing these now for prosperity to show the functionality is an issue for more people than Steve suggested): viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9259 -- viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8949 -- viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6634 -- viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6678 -- viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6675 -- viewtopic.php?f=20&t=6068

Thanks for the help! :D

Now all I need to do is clear the amount of rain listed for yesterday (0.94 in). We had no precipitation for this year/month. You can see this at http://www.ridgerun.us/wxcuyear.php.
