Mark I know what we discussed here but I am wondering if you can somehow stop issuing the error message every few seconds, running in a Linux console it fills up the screen and makes life difficult seeing any other genuine error messages which might occur. Only happens on my Linux system, on Windows 7 it is not happening.

I'd forgotten about this tbh. The test if the file exists was outside the catch, I'll move it inside for the next release and see it that suppresses the console output.

Mark, thanks. It is not high priority but an annoyance!

Trouble is, I'm not convinced it will stop your messages in the console. They are not coming from MX, they are being output by Mono afaics.
