Extremely mild air soon to arrive over the UK

Post by RayProudfoot »

The Met Office is forecasting extremely mild air to arrive over North-West Europe from Wednesday. Temps in the south of England could reach 16°C. The air is coming from south of the Azores.

The December record for my station in Cheshire is 15.2°C back on 19/12/2015. There’s a reasonable chance it could go. How do you feel about your record being broken?
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

Tell a lie, Ray..

Mine was 16°C on December 17th 2015. That was on my Vantage Vue data, not on the Pro2 I have now.

Yesterday recorded a max of 14.3°C so the 2015 December record remains intact

But my January max of 14.3°C in 2015 was equalled today. Probably the last day of this exceptional spell.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

Yep, same. 12.2°C.

January max went too, with 14.4°C.

Pretty horrible to be honest.. everything is just damp with this mild air. I haven't been able to do any washing as clothes won't dry outside, either.

A brief change on Wednesday. before south westerlies arrive again, then a switch to some PM air Thursday/Friday.
