CUtils 6.7.7

Post by AndyKF650 »

Hi Hans

Thanks for the updates over the last couple of days, you have been busy!

One thought, and I am not to sure if it is me but, when an update is downloaded and extracted and copied to the utils file should the CUsermenu.txt and the CutilsCharts.def files be overwritten if they are previously defined by the user. It seems that the CUserAbout.txt file is not overwritten by the incoming files. If the user does not copy back the previously stored files the result, after running the website update, is not what was expected.

I know it is a small niggle and easily corrected by the user but I assume it is a coding issue which may be solvable.

CUserAbout and CUsermenu are not part of the distribution, the files which are there are <name>-example.txt.
CutilsCharts-example.def remains as such.
I will rename CuserCharts.def to CuserCharts-default-for-use.def in the distribution.

In the code for copying the files to their website location I removed the final filenames so no overwrite can take place if they are present (by the user).

In summary the distribution will from now on (beside the libraries):
  1. CUserAbout-example.txt (as an example of the user about file)
  2. CUsermenu-example.txt (as an example of the menu structure)
  3. CutilsCharts-default-for-use.def (to rename to CutilsCharts.def when used)
  4. CutilsCharts-examples.def (for more elaborate examples, not for direct use)
These files will not be copied automatically to the website location.
I will adjust the wiki accordingly.
No new release will be issued for this, it will become available in time.
Hans
