hi im thinking off buying this for my girlfriend and i was wondering if Cumulus mx will work on this
or will i need the GW-1000 gatway?

Like my HP2551 this station is connected to CumulusMX using HTTP and you do not need a GW1100. All you will need to do is set it up on your girlfriends wifi and set up the computer that is running MX on the same network.

one last thing will a Raspberry pi 3 be ok for Cumulus mx as i have one laying about ?

Should be no problem, will run a Pi zero upwards.

Ok thank u and and is there a specific way to install mono or is it just straight how you do it on the Raspberry Pi 4
