Data input appears to have stopped for Weatherflow Tempest

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Data input appears to have stopped for Weatherflow Tempest

Post by draqwerty »

Hi all

Recently upgraded to the latest version. Running on windows 10. I have noticed that the program updates from the web fine, however after the catch up I see "Data input appears to have stopped" in the log file. A restart of CumulusMX - catches again and then stops.

I have attached the debug files.

I'm thinking there is something wrong with my config and its not connecting to the local hub. I would appreciate any pointers.

Thank you.

Jason

Jason,

There really isn't any "config" involved to process the local messages. The tempest hub automatically broadcasts them on the network, CumulusMX just "listens" for the messages.

First I would try cycling power on the hub. If that doesn't start them again, you may want to check the firewall on your Windows 10 machine. Turn it completely off and see if the messages start again.

Hi Doug

Thank you for your reply.

Double checked that the firewall is off. I have rebooted the Tempest Hub. Still the same behavior.

I have now turned off the ethernet on the windows 10 pc and connected back to WIFI. It's now working. So it looks to be something with my router setup and allowing broadcasting from wifi to wired.

Thank you again.

Do you have the wifi setup to be on a different subnet? Because the broadcast messages will probably not leave their own subnet.

All on the same subnet. I vaguely remember seeing a setting which allowed traffic from wifi to lan. Need to reset the wifi router and have a peek.
