Current compatible weather station

Post by bobm »

After nearly 11 years sterling service my Maplin weather station has finally packed up (not helped by a builder clonking it with some wood!).

Can anyone recommend a current model which is compatible with Cumulus?

Cumulus or CumulusMX.

If you mean CumulusMX and you do not wish the Davis route I would recommend the Ecowitt weather stations available on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/ecowitt ... f_=ast_bln

Thank you

Was hoping to stick with Cumulus 1 - but I will explore MX. Last time I looked, some time ago, the installation procedure put me off.

The Ecowitt stations that David mentions are the current generation of the Fine Offset weather stations, but these are no longer compatible with Cumulus 1.

You will be limited in new station selection to use with Cumulus 1. But current Davis with USB/Serial or IP logger are still available and compatible.

CumulusMX might have sounded somewhat daunting especially in that it can run on more than just Windows and PC, but in reality the installation for Windows is quite easy.
The big difference, along with the many added features, is the interface and settings screens.
If you have Cumulus 1 historical data you will be able to continue with that data in CumulusMX.

The WiKi and forum is always available if you need help.

Enjoy,
Paul

Have taken the plunge and moved to CumulusMX with a Watson W8686.

You are right - it isn't that hard!
