Mean values for wxsim?

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Mean values for wxsim?

Post by Whizzwoz »

Hello I wonder if anyone can help me just paid for wxsim and tom has sent me an email as follows:

I got your data, too. However, I'm wondering if you might be able to furnish it in a form that shows the main items I'm looking for - namely monthly values of mean daily min and mean daily max temperature, along with mean dew point (mean temperature and mean relative humidity can be a substitute), and mean wind speed. Does Cumulus have reports which show these things?

I'm doing some preliminary work now, but that more spefici climate data would speed things up if you have it.

Thanks again!

Cheers,

Tom

Does he mean the dayfile? I have sent him the noaa reports folder.

Cheers warren.

Cumulus does not calculate those values by default, you would have to calculate them for yourself.
Either by using the dayfile (import into Excel or Access), or by sending the MX data to a database, then some simple queries of the database would give you the figures he requires.

btw, I think the dayfile may be a better data source for him to work with. (don't forget to send him the header file as well!)
