Error when updating Program Settings

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Error when updating Program Settings

Post by andersondj »

Following enabling FTP Logging in Program Settings and Saving Settings I am receiving the following error:

localhost:8998 says:
Error 500 - Error processing Program Options: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Any assistance would be apprreciated.

PS Prior to enabling FTP logging I deleted an old ftplog.txt file

When you last updated did you copy the entire contents of the zip file to your installation folder?

If so could you try loading the program settings page then pressing Ctrl-F5 to force a refresh, then see if you can save please?

I am still getting the same error following F5 and save settings.

During the course of yesterday I did an upgrade from b3149 to b3152. However I am not sure whether the problem only started after the upgrade. Is it worthwhile to go back to b3149 or will that possibly cause additional problems?

Could you share a screen shot of the settings you are trying to apply?

Ah, it doesn't show me the bit I was interested in which is below that - do you have a Culture Overrides section?

There is no Culture Overrides section. Underneath the General Section is the Save Settings button.

Then my previous question (unanswered) applies...
When you last updated did you copy the entire contents of the zip file to your installation folder?
It does not look like it, unless...

I asked you to do a Ctrl-F5, is that what you did?

To be certain, I have just re-applied the complete contents of the Zip file, entered Program Settings and refreshed. Still no sign of Culture Overrides section and still getting error on Save Settings. My CumulusMX.exe is dated 26/10/21 and is 1,662KB if that helps. Otherwise which program module and date should determine whether I have the coding which should display the Culture Overrides section?

Did you copy the entire contents of the Interface folder as that is where all the files that run CumulusMX dashboard reside and if you are not seeing Culture Settings at the bottom of Program Settings page it would suggest you have not done so or you need to purge your browser cache?

I created a new interface folder (having first renamed the original!) and reloaded it from the zip file. Now all is working fine! I can only assume my problem was either user error or a corrupt file in my old interafce folder. Many thanks water01 and Mark C. for all your assistance.

David Anderson.
