Extra Web Files

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Extra Web Files

Post by water01 »

A silly question but I will ask just in case.

If I have 12 files uploading in the extra web files list and I want to stop file 2 uploading, is it better you just switch off FTP for that file and stop it uploading or remove the entire file settings.

I ask this as I was wondering if CumulusMX will spot the extra file setting at position 2 is space filled and stop loading everything below it i.e. it assumes a space filled slot is the end of the list?

Hi David,
I have also wondered what is best. In my usage a blank line or a line with only local file filled in (and I have a few), then any other lines below that filled in with Process, FTP, etc. will still process and FTP.

Enjoy,
Paul

It does not make any difference, MX checks all 100 entries to see if they are non-blank in both filename fields.

Am I correct in saying that changes to Extra Webfiles is now not effective until after a restart is later releases?

Reason for the question is that in the past I was able to toggle "Realtime" on & off to force updates when making changes to my test templates.

That does't seem to work now. Instead I have to use FTP Now to force an update.

@PaulMy ,

Are you aware that you can make your Extra Webfiles entries shorter & easier to read & edit by using relative paths?

viewtopic.php?f=40&t=18725&p=148505&hil ... hs#p148505

Either or both sides can be Full or Relative paths.
On the remote side the path relates to the default path of the FTP user.

In my case Weather@invere...... FTP user has his path set as Weather.inverellit.com

I do that as well - turn Realtime on and off for testing, just tried it and it does work for me...

Yes agreed easier to look at, but looking at and using the full path helps my mind to confirm what install I am working on, and to ensure I FTP to the correct remote folder. ;)

Enjoy,
Paul

Nope, changes will be effective immediately.
