fine offset wind data
I have just updated MX from 3.9.7 to 3.12.0 and everything is fine apart from the wind data is being rounded to nearest whole number. I have tried toggling the option in 'Station Settings - Fine Offset Settings- wind speed rounding' but that doesn't change anything. Ideas?

Re: fine offset wind data
That seems to be a feature
I guess you mean the dashboard view.
The "wind speeds" tile (very right) only shows the rounded number before the decimal point, whereas the "wind speed" gauge tile (very left) shows one place after the decimal point.

Re: fine offset wind data
Could you post a screen shot of what you are seeing please?
The wind speed decimals should all be consistent and match what is set in Station Settings -> General Settings -> Units -> Advanced

Re: fine offset wind data
here you go - left tile 16.0, right tile 18 / 27 - average and gust don't show decimal places after the decimal point and setting the decimals to "1" doesn't change that - the unfilled mask shows --.- but once filled it's no decimal.

Re: fine offset wind data
I don't seem to be able to upload an image. But, since updating no windspeed decimal places on the dashboard, 'Now', 'Today/Yesterday' or the 'Gauges' page. Also, all the historic wind records are now rounded but the noaa reports have the decimal places even from since I updated.

Re: fine offset wind data
Right, the default for km/h, mph, and knots is to round the wind speed to whole numbers. The only value that really makes sense to have a decimal is the average speed (I use 1 decimal for my 10 minute average in mph).
The default for m/s is 1 decimal place everwhere.
Having said that, the unit decimal over-rides are not working when set from the Station Settings screen
(fixed for next release)
They should work if set in Cumulus.ini whilst CMX is stopped.
TBH if a station could accurately measure to 0.1 km/h or mph... I couldn't afford it!
So it's pointless precision
without the accuracy to back it up.

Re: fine offset wind data
SORRY - Just had another look at this Months NOAA report and it isn't reporting the decimal places.

Re: fine offset wind data
The NOAA report is a different animal. It is an average wind speed over 24 hours, so a decimal makes sense there as it is averaged from hundreds of individual values.

Re: fine offset wind data
****SOLVED****
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I stopped MX running and looked in cumulus.ini file. There seems to be a lot more 'stuff' in there since the last version of MX I had inluding a couple of lines that read WindSpeedDecimals=0 WindSpeedAvgDecimals=0 I changed these to read =1 and Viola!
everything working as before - wind speeds reading to one decimal place, all other wind data reverted back to showing decimal places. Happy Days
Thanks Again.
