I am having a bit of a funny with this.
Every few hours, Cumulus stops sending data via FTP. MOre to the point, it seems to 'gum up' FTP update by another program (I get an error - unable to connect' from the FTP program (File Fling).
As soon as I close Cumulus, File Fling is able to connect again, and restart Cumulus and all is fine.
It's getting to the point that I am going to have to consider using Task Scheduler to start, shut down and restart Cumulus to reset things every few hours.
Anyone have any comments/similar experiences?

Re: FTP update problem
The only way I can think that Cumulus could do this is: if it's to the same ftp server as the one that you can't connect to, then the server puts a limit on the number of connections you can have at any time, and due to some problem or incompatibility with your ftp server, Cumulus has used up all the connections (didn't someone else have this problem? I can't remember how they resolved it). Or if it's not to the same server, then the only way I could see it happening is if Cumulus was using up all the local TCP ports, which netstat would show.Jim_AFCB wrote:MOre to the point, it seems to 'gum up' FTP update by another program (I get an error - unable to connect' from the FTP program (File Fling).
Turn on the ftp log and debug log and have a look at the output.

Re: FTP update problem
THanks Steve.
Yes, it's the same server, and there are only two connections open to it when this occurs, one from File Fling, the other from Cumulus. At first I was shutting down both programs and removing the connections through my server's user panel, then I found just killing Cumulus solved it.
I'll have a look at the logs now I've enabled them (just found how to do it).
What is connect error - error code 426?
