I run CMX 24/7 on a netbook with windows 11. Last night windows restarted and closed CMX at 23:15 (my fault for not pausing updates.) When I restarted CMX this morning nothing was updated from Ecowitt although I have entered the api keys in CMX. This is the first time since the introduction of the ability to get historical data that I needed it and it let me down. Old age or stupidity I don't know( Friday 13th come early) Have attached the Diagfile from the restart,
20230111-084011.txt
I have checked the keys were correct.
But not to worry I now have the HP2552 and a spare sd card. (NO it's Friday 13th did come early)The 2552 sees the card and I can get into the history screen but get no option to download. the 2 keys will either delete the data or open another page.

The log file states:
2023-01-11 08:40:25.083 API.GetHistoricData: Ecowitt API Historic Response code: 200
2023-01-11 08:40:25.083 API.GetHistoricData: Ecowitt API Historic Response: {"code":40012,"msg":"Invalid mac","time":"1673426423","data":[]}

So for some reason the station mac address that CMX uses does not match the one present in ecowitt’s cloud. Have you checked that your station data is shown on ecowitt.net when you login? You can check the mac addresses from left side menu under devices. And the keys are shown from right upper corner under user profile.

When you have this checked, you can retry the catch-up following the normal recommended procedure. If I remember correctly, this is done by stopping cmx, and restoring the data folder from daily backup before the gap happened. This would mean for you to get the folder that was backup on rollover between monday and yesterday. But to be sure not to lose any more data of course backup the current data folder too before doing anything. Someone else hopefully corrects if I’m speaking stupid things.

EDIT. It seems that the mac address field could be empty. Have you added it to CMX station settings?

Hi Sami
Found another way to get the data onto the card. Now working on changing the downloaded data into CMX format. Once I know that I won't miss any data stopping CMX I will give it another stop and recheck the result.

and the MAC address "e8:db:84:e1:c9:eb" is definitely the same as that shown on the Ecowitt web site under "My devices"?

Got my lost data back and closed CMX for 10mins. Restarted and still no download from Ecowitt with the error Ecowitt API Historic Response: {"code":40012,"msg":"Invalid mac","time":"1673426423","data":[]} in the diag file, but no MAC. error.

I know this is going to sound silly but I see you are using lowercase Alpha characters in your MAC codes. I always enter mine as upper case and I have 1 HP2551 and 2 GW1100 gateways loading data and history perfectly.

yeah I saw that last night when checking the mac address as Ecowitt had the mac in uppercase. But in hex e is the same as E.
The latest diag after the restart didn't fail on the address but time as above also
Gateway clock is 1 secs slow compared to Cumulus
other restarts show
3 secs slow and also 1 secs slow
Will change the mac in CMX to uppercase and try again
thanks

Ha, I noticed the lower case too, and as test on my Dev install I changed just the first octet to lowercase and it still worked so I thought it wasn't that! :bash:

I'll force the MAC address input to uppercase when it saves the value...

WSView Plus question. in late 21 I got my GW110C and also installed WS View which is still working OK. At the start of this year I installed the Plus version which also worked well. Over the last few weeks the Plus displayed the live data then returned to the device list after a few seconds every time the data screen was selected. Today the Plus will not connect at all. I uninstalled and reinstalled it but still get no connection to the GW1100C(original WS View is OK) IP and mac. are the same as WS view.
Has anyone come across this and found a cure?

Umm, I have been using some Ecowitt sensors and a GW1100 for a few weeks. I am using the WSView plus app on my iPhone, and up till yesterday all was fine, however today on the "My Devices" screen if I click on my device (when I am on my home lan, it never used to work out of the home) then I just get a spinning wheel and Connecting... and it then goes back to the "My Devices" screen.

I can connect to the GW1100 ok from my PC using a browser, and data is being uploaded to Ecowitt.com ok and pushed to Cumulus. I cheeked to see if there was a firmware update (Automatically upgrade firmware is off) for the GW1100 but there wasn't so I gave it a reboot, but still same issue, so I deleted and then re-installed the app, and still same issue.

Sounds like there may be an issue somewhere, though connecting to a device under "My Devices" should be a local (lan) thing, I wonder if it's going off to Ecowitt.com for something, and that's broken.
