OK you'll have seen my Brain Pickin Thread (New PC & All) .........so I gets up this morning & checks the station ........ERROR report!!!!

Never had one before "No Contact with Sensor" after 5 tries ............(Rain gauge sitting at 16.70 inches!!!!).Mmmmmmm!!!! I'll gets meself up the ladder & Check

I know you lot are gonna fall off yer chairs laughing at this.............Seagull had taken a dump in me rain gauge!!!!!! I'm sure them buggers have Norden Bomb sights Straight down the hole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO, took it down cleaned it out with some warm water (It's woking again now) but how do I clear the 16.70 from the memory??? bin into the "Edit all time records" bit & altered the reading but everytime it re-reads it pops back up again!!!!

To clear it from Cumulus, you need to stop it and edit today.ini. The Start= figure in there is the station's total counter as it was at midnight. Today's rain is calculated by subtracting that from the current value. The current value is in dec09log.txt. Set Start= so that the difference is now correct.

OK after much Head Scratchin ....I've acomplished that eeerrrr I THINK!!..............BUT!.... the figure 199.86 is still showing in the "Recent Extremes" Panel How do I get rid of that????

Edit today.ini, the High= value in the [Rain] section.

Sorry, I thought you'd already fixed today's rain. The instructions I gave to change High= were for fixing the high rain rate.

You've set Start=0. This means that Cumulus now thinks that the total rain counter in your station (the one that just keeps increasing which Cumulus uses to work out each day's rain) was zero at midnight. So it thinks that the current vale of that counter (17.11 inches, apparently) is the rain that has fallen today (subtracting zero from 17.11, as I described earlier).

To get today's rain to zero, you need to set Start=17.11 (so 17.11 - 17.11 = zero, today's rain)
