Its a short work week in NZ this week, and I lose another day to travel so I won't have much time to play this week.
Thanks for the tips, it saves me a bit of pulling it apart to find out how it works then adjusting to my pages.

Every time we update Cumulus with a new version will we have to reload the indexT file into the "web" folder of cumulus ?
Does the .js file need uploading aswell ?
tks

.js file upload is not needed
Now, for the easy way of doing this, steve created a place to do uploads of individual files
What you can do is
1. untick "include standart files in the internet setup of Cumulus
2. use the boxes on the same screen to upload all 6 files.
(number 1 your new indexT.htm file you have in a folder somewhere on your PC, not in the web-folder)
I put my templatefiles inside Cumulus/my_templates/
(number 2 to 6 the other files from inside your "web" folder of Cumulus)
Doing thing this way, you can safely update Cumulus without overwriting the IndexT.htm-file every time you do an upgrade

I've just done a change which will hopefully make this a bit easier.
Currently, Cumulus uploads the extra files, then the standard files, then the images. I've changed it so that it does the extra files last. This means that you can still upload the standard files, then over-write any that you have changed. It just saves putting the details in of all the unchanged ones, if you've only changed one or two.
Don't forget that with the 'extra files', the file names don't change, so you probably don't want to call your own file indexT.htm!

As a matter of interest, is there any way of forcing the creation of the htm files from the template files rather than wait for the programme every time I edit the htm templates?

Click in the menu: File ~~>Web Update

Yes, I know about that but when I was uploading, it didn't appear to update the files as the time and date remained the same after refresh.
If I deleted the non-template files, then uploaded, the files were created correctly.
I have to do more research, when time allows, to see if there was a problem.

This is a terrific improvement over the standard index page...well done.
I love the way it flashes red for 2 seconds if a value changes....Steve that would be a nice addition to the main Cumulus console (the flashing if change bit)
Cheers

Pinto -
Your "Trend" page is terrific. I would very much like to incorporate your style for my "Trends" page. What is required to reproduce the graphs and their thumbnails. Does your script require any thing more than "AjaxCumulus.js" and "realtime.txt" to function.

"Trend" page needs no AjaxCumulus.js
You need Kevins TNETWeather jpgraphs package(donate), if you have that working, you have to find out how to make those tumbnails and graphs using a shell-script and ImageMagic(you need SSH login, first ask your ISP if you can use ImageMagic)
Then start a new topic, and I try to help you (it is not easy)

Jozef.
I agree you have done a good job with the graphs incorporating them into Steve template. I particularly like the rainfall and Max/Min graph.

Thanks for the complements
For the day by day rain and the Max/Min graph I did setup a little script on my system to send the last 31 lines from dayfile.txt to the server(and create the graphs on the server)

and only updates the values without refreshing the page itself
This indexT.htm file is the original file, modified are only the tags used in the page

this file uses the weatherstyle.css file you have on your server
BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP !!!!

I just updated Cumulus and now my auto updateing index page is no longer updateing. Do I have to download the files from this thread again?
Looks like I did. It is auto updateing again. This is so neat!
