Moving Cumulus to another PC

Post by kees »

Hi,

I'm a new user of Cumulus. I installed it a week ago, and I think it looks great.
Now I want to move it from one PC to another, to give it a more permanent place.
The PC it is currently on, it's path is D:\Program Files\Cumulus; on the new PC
it will be installed in C:\Program Files\Cumulus, so the driveletter changes.
What are the steps to accomplish this?

Regards,
Kees.

Do you mean to keep your existing data? Just copy the data folder over (and probably the Cumulus.ini file too, to save you setting it all up again). I can't think of any problems that the drive letter change would cause, the paths are all relative. Is Vista involved?

Steve, thanks.
I already thought that it was that easy, but not everything seemed to work (in the GUI in Recent Extremes, the values for Yesterday were missing).
The reason was that the Regional Settings for both PCs were different: one was Dutch, which wrote/read an "okt08.log" file in the data-folder; the other one was US, which wrote/read an "Oct08.log" file.

Regards,
Kees.

Ah, right. Cumulus is sort of semi-internationalised.
