Hi Steve just wonder why the chart looks different after a restart?
Ie this is the chart before I restarted Cumulus the windchill looks like this...
Then after a restart I get this...
I have the windchill option ticked by the way in Cumulus
Not mentioned it before but some times when I try to view the graphs locally I view them fine ie the window open, but then after closing it down I go to look again and the window simply won't open... I know it won't do it while it is uploading as I just discovered...

Re: Chart difference?
I should do a FAQ for this. That's twice this has been asked, just today - but I know you won't be reading the Fine Offset section now you're one of the elitetomcatuk wrote:Hi Steve just wonder why the chart looks different after a restart?
The graphs are plotted at 1-minute intervals while Cumulus is running. When you start Cumulus up, it downloads the data from the logger and adds it to the log files. It then plots the graphs using the last 24 hours worth of data from the log files; so the plot interval you see at start up comes from a combination of the station logger interval and the Cumulus logging interval (but I recommend having them set to the same value anyway).
I can't explain that, I'm afraid, as it all works fine for me, and I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't. The upload is done in a separate thread specifically so it doesn't interfere with the UI. It could be something to do with the way the data is read from the Vue, but again, that's in a separate thread. That thread does have to communicate with the UI thread, though, to update the display, but it shouldn't stop the graphs window opening. Not mentioned it before but some times when I try to view the graphs locally I view them fine ie the window open, but then after closing it down I go to look again and the window simply won't open... I know it won't do it while it is uploading as I just discovered...

It's occurred to me that maybe it's not the ftp uploads that cause the problem. I don't think the WU/CWOP etc uploads are done in a separate thread, so it's possibke these do interfere with the UI.steve wrote:The upload is done in a separate thread specifically so it doesn't interfere with the UI.
