In Index.html file isn't uploading via FTP.
Good afternoon,
Can someone please till me why when the option to upload the supplied / default website is chosen, an index.html file isn't uploaded?.
Several .json files are, but not the main web page.
Very Best Wishes,
Bob.

This is because the default web site is now data driven. The json files are uploaded regularly. The html files are uploaded once (manually) and read their data from the json files using javascript. So as long as you are uploading the json files then your website will keep updating. The Wiki article explains this.

Thanks Freddie, I've now uploaded all of the .htm files, but they do not show any data whatsoever!.
Am I meant to edit those .htm files too?.
Very Best Wishes,
Bob.

Did you upload all files and folders from the webfiles folder in your CumulusMX distribution to your website?

And are they from the very latest build or at least from Build 3115 at the latest?

Re: In Index.html file isn't uploading via FTP.
Hello,
Thank you - yes, I have uploaded everything from the webfiles-legacy folder, after trying the webfiles folder. I have been using the latest build of MX, 3117.
I've attached a screenshot of the index page.
Very Best Wishes,
Bob.

That page can't see the data file (websitedata.json). Is that file being uploaded?

https://cumuluswiki.org/a/New_Default_W ... o_MX_v3.10
Old templates must now be processed by adding them to the Extra Files list. they are not automatically processed and uploaded any longer.I want to keep the old web site completely, but also update to MX v3.10
It that case you will have to keep the indexT.htm, gaugesT.htm etc. files from a previous release and make sure they are still in your local /web folder.
Then you will have to add every web page template file (indexT.htm, gaugesT.htm etc) to your Cumulus MX Extra Files list; the remote filenames should all drop the 'T' - indexT.htm becomes index.htm. Ensure you tick process, FTP and add your web site FTP folder in remote files

I thought @Bristolian wanted to use the data-driven version of the old web template. @Bristolian: do you have a link to your web site, please?

In my Cumulus folder, I have the following folders:-ConligWX wrote: ↑Thu 04 Mar 2021 3:05 pm https://cumuluswiki.org/a/New_Default_W ... o_MX_v3.10

webfiles
webfiles-legacy
I have copied the contents of webfiles-legacy to my root folder online. The websitedata.json file is uploading automatically via the FTP feature of MX, as are all the json files.
From reading the above, do I have to manually add those htm files from the original web folder, and rename them in the next box along in the Extra Files list?.
Very Best Wishes,
Bob.

Worked it out for myself: http://huntsweather.byethost7.com/
Your data file is being uploaded, as you said.
The css folder is missing, but all other folders appear to be present.Scratch that - you are using the legacy folder.

Ah! The legacy-webfiles have fallen victim to changes implemented in the new web site.
Please try putting this version of the script in the web server "/js" folder.
