Ah! A penny drops, it seems that the recently revised station update screens have managed to lose the comm port setting for the WMR928! 
So, yes, until I get that fixed, you will have to stop Cumulus MX, edit the Cumulus.ini file, and set the comm port manually in the station section as Simon indicated above.
