Problems to configure CumulusMX

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Problems to configure CumulusMX

Post by paologambal »

I installed the program as per your site and I connected the Oregon WMR928nx station on the rs-232 port but unfortunately it does not connect. When I go to run sudo mono on the terminal it gives me the following errors that I send them. If you can help me, thank you. Regards.

if you care to look at the screen shots you have posted it says Specified port number not open.

find out what com port your serial is plugged into and assign that in the Cumulus.ini

Code: Select all

ComportName=xxxxxxxx

You are running build 3042, that is very old. I would advise to upgrade.
And while you are at it, please check the versions status of Mono and Linux as well.

The most likely cause is rooted in version incompatibility.

It's 3043 but it's still ancient and should be trying a newer version :)

if you care to look at the first screenshot.

it says near the bottom:

Code: Select all

An error has occurred - please zip up the MXdiags folder and post it in the forum.

Where is your zip file?

can you post the output of this command:

Code: Select all

dmesg | grep tty

We go right back to the first response above which you have not really answered.

What are you entering in Cumulus MX as the serial port name?

What do you mean by serial port name? tcp port? on the configuration of the oregon? The number 22222 is entered.

I think he means the name of the comport entry in cumulus.ini

like so:

Code: Select all

ComportName=/dev/ttyUSB0

or

ComportName=COM1
